FMQs : Cancer, Steel & Newport M4

I'm trying something new for the Fifth Assembly in order to improve the depth of coverage and that's blogging First Minister's Questions (FMQs) for the first time.

Senedd sharting ends in a squeak

Back in your box, Twitter. Feeling salty?

Normal service is resumed....sort of. The National Assembly has – as anyone with an ounce of common sense would've expected – rubber-stamped both the appointment of Carwyn Jones as First Minister and the formation of a Labour minority government.

Election 2016 Report : Lib Dems

(Pic : via Reddit)

There's very little to say here other than repeating that "they had a bad night", so I'll keep this as quick and painless as possible.

Election 2016 Report : Conservatives

Second place becomes third place, but recent events in the Senedd have perhaps overshadowed what was a poor night for the Welsh Conservatives.

When Politicians Shit Their Pants

As you can tell by Leanne's body language, she's absolutely

Election 2016 : The Regional Lists

20 AMs will be elected from five regional lists and, yet again,
the lists promise to provide some drama on Friday morning.
(Pic : BBC Wales)

Aside from a few select constituencies, the exciting stuff happens on the regional lists because it's largely unpredictable : in 2011, few people foresaw Nick Bourne's unseating or the Lib Dems retaining 4 list seats. It promises to provide most of the drama this time around with UKIP and the Greens aiming to elect AMs for the first time.

Where might your vote count the most?
(Pic : BBC Wales)
We're now at the business end of the 2016 election though, unlike previous elections, I'm not going to make any predictions as they just serve as a opportunity to make an arse of myself. Instead, I'm going to focus on those seats which might provide some excitement on election night : today the first-past-the-post seats, tomorrow I'll cover the regional lists.
